Porsche consistently promotes the development of its employees – the most important potential of a successful company. The possibilities for development at Porsche spring from the wide range of interesting tasks and activities performed by our company. For us, therefore, personnel development is not an “off the peg” concept, but an approach for improving our employees based on individual needs and various development phases. There are three equivalent development paths for enhancing your skills: the specialist, project and management career. All development paths offer career opportunities.
How the performance and commitment of each person are evaluated, and how the future career path could look, is discussed annually between management and the employee. Whether and how the targets set have been achieved is dealt with in a fair and equitable discussion of the evaluation. Strengths, potentials for improvement, wishes and development opportunities are laid out, from which customised development measures are derived and established.
Our diverse individual development measures range from visiting training courses and seminars through to individual coaching by management or experts. On-the-job training measures such as projects forming part of the Porsche improvement process, special technical activities, cooperation in working groups and teams of Simultaneous Engineering as well as collaboration on international projects and with our foreign subsidiaries offer additional, practical opportunities to enhance one’s qualifications. Apart from the targeted individual development, we systematically prepare selected target groups, such as project teams, next generation and management forces, for future challenges.
The company offers a next-generation programme specific to Porsche Engineering and also participates in a group-wide next-generation programme called Globalution. Over a period of 18 months, the Porsche Engineering next-generation programme offers basic, individual and group modules that specifically prepare trainees for the next stage of development. Globalution is a Porsche programme aimed at the next generation from across the Porsche Group which is intended to work in an international environment of on international activities. Globalution has a modular structure and comprises cases studies, workshops and a project.
In the area of management, the Porsche Management Training offers a comprehensive and strategic qualification programme. The programme has been developed in cooperation with a renowned business school and gives participants the “state of the art” in important areas of general management.
