Porsche Cayenne Coupé

Another model variant built in collaboration with Porsche AG

Together with Porsche AG, Porsche Engineering developed a new vehicle variant, a coupé version of the successful and powerful Cayenne SUV.

In addition to the larger wheels, the Cayenne Coupé is intended to have a flatter line overall, which not only gives the vehicle a sporty look but also impacts the driving experience. The fixed roof-edge spoiler and the adaptive rear spoiler are further distinguishing features that make the coupé stand out from the base version, especially visually.

Due to the sloping roof line and the resulting change in the angle of the windshield, development of the 2.2-square-meter glass roof presented a particular technical challenge for the Porsche Engineering team Crash safety, temperature behavior and mechanical strength of the glass roof were tested with the aid of simulations and component tests.

Complete vehicle testing was conducted at several test sites in Spain, Finland and South Africa. Here the vehicle was put through its paces under various climatic and terrain conditions.
