Since opening on July 1st, 1975, Nardò Technical Center has consistently served as a proving ground for generations of vehicles, playing a key role in the advancement of automotive technology and innovation.

Beyond its technical pioneering, the proving ground was part of a visionary project for Southern Italy and quickly became a crucial driver of the regional economy and employment. Over its fifty years, this role has grown stronger, establishing the center as a cornerstone of the local economy, fostering local talent, and attracting new professionals from around the world.

Today, NTC spans 700 hectares and features 20 test tracks and facilities, including the iconic ring track, a 6.2-kilometer handling course, and cutting-edge simulation technologies. These facilities support comprehensive testing and validation of vehicles under diverse conditions, from high-speed endurance to complex handling scenarios, all designed to ensure the development of high-performance, intelligent, safe and connected vehicles.

Originally established by FIAT, the proving ground quickly gained international recognition for its revolutionary ring track. Over the years, the site evolved progressively. The "Gruppo Prototipo" continued to expand the facility with additional tracks, workshops, and offices to better serve the growing demands of the customers.

In the last decade, under the management and support of Porsche and Porsche Engineering, Nardò has not only preserved its legacy but also reaffirmed its position as a cornerstone of innovation and performance in the global automotive industry.
