Porsche Engineering extends capacities and competenciesStrong growth due to high demand for new technologies

Stuttgart/Praha. Porsche Engineering Services, s.r.o., the Prague-based subsidiary of the global engineering services provider Porsche Engineering Group GmbH, Weissach (Germany) finished a successful year 2018 and plans to further continue its expansion both in terms of competence and headcount in 2019. The increasing importance of its activities in new technologies for the vehicle of the future drive the ambitious growth plan of the Czech company.

“We have had an exceptionally successful year”, says doc. Miloš Polášek, CEO of Porsche Engineering s.r.o.. “With projects ranging from smart charging solutions for e-vehicles, new assistance systems based on big data and machine learning to platforms and battery systems for future cars, we are supporting the major changes in the automotive industry. The opening of a branch in Ostrava last summer was one of the most important milestones. Together with the Prague bureau, we already have 200 developers, up by 38 percent year on year.”

The Ostrava office has quickly taken full responsibility for highly sophisticated projects, such as the development of software for smart charging infrastructure. The current number of 25 developers is planned to more than double this year. In total, Porsche Engineering Services, s.r.o. plans to increase the number of engineers to more than 230 this year. Together with the location in Romanian Cluj-Napoca, the Czech offices are among the fastest growing branches of Porsche Engineering. In the coming months, Porsche Engineering Services will recruit both graduates and experienced colleagues. Recruiting of the new talents will run not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Slovakia and Poland.

In 2019, Porsche Engineering also plans to expand its academic partnership. In addition to the long-standing partnership with Czech Technical University (CTU) since 2001, joint R&D projects are planned with VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava specialized in the integration of electronics and its architecture in vehicles.
