Porsche Engineering officially opens new office in Timișoara and plans further expansionThe company aims to recruit more than 100 software developers and engineers in Romania in 2023

Stuttgart/Timișoara. Porsche Engineering, technology service provider and wholly owned subsidiary of Porsche, has settled in Timișoara and announces the official opening of its new physical location in the city – with long-term plans of growing. The company, which has another R&D office in Cluj-Napoca, aims to recruit more than 100 employees in Romania in 2023, out of which 50 software developers and engineers are planned to be hired in Timișoara.

“With the opening of our new office in Timișoara, we are strengthening Porsche Engineering’s presence in Romania even more,” says Dirk Lappe, CTO of Porsche Engineering and Chairman of the Shareholder’s Committee of the Romanian branch of the company. “We want to continue our success story of developments for the intelligent and connected vehicles in this innovative environment – by relying on the bright minds and skilled talents here. As with our other Romanian site in Cluj-Napoca, we aim to accelerate innovation in software engineering for the automotive industry, and at the same time foster relations with the community and partners around us.”

The new office in Timișoara is located in the heart of the city, in the United Business Center building of Iulius Town Timișoara. It covers 2,110 m² and is a modern, digitalized space, where employees can fully experience the new era of hybrid working. The area is designed like the core of the human-centered culture of Porsche Engineering, with the purpose of bringing people together, fostering social connections, and allowing a self-organized way of working.

The company thus aims to contribute to the further development of the local automotive software industry, to train the current and next generation of tech talents as well as to give back to society. In 2023, Porsche Engineering Romania plans to recruit more than 100 new employees at its two locations in Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara, with a focus on areas such as AI, Big Data, Cloud, Infotainment, ADAS, Connectivity, and more future-oriented subjects of the automotive IT era.
