50 years of passion, technology and innovation: Nardò Technical Center and the future of mobility
2025 was a special year for the Nardò Technical Center: a year of memory, pride and vision. Fifty years ago, on July 1st, 1975, an ambitious project was born in the heart of Salento—one that would change the history of mobility forever. Half a century later, that project continues to grow, evolve and inspire, driven by the people who make it possible every day.
A year of celebrations
To celebrate this extraordinary milestone, NTC retraced 50 years of history, reliving the moments and involving the people who shaped its evolution and strengthened its identity and vision, making it what it is today.
To honor this journey, in 2025 the company narrated its history through a dedicated and engaging storytelling initiative and promoted several special events: former employees and their families returned to the proving ground—transformed from its foundation to today—reliving the places where they contributed to building its history, in a meeting full of memories and emotion. Afterwards, a celebration dedicated to employees took place, honoring those who embody every day the value, credibility and pioneering spirit of NTC.
A unique legacy
From the iconic high-speed ring to modern workshops and testing infrastructures, NTC has contributed for decades to the development of the global automotive sector. Thousands of vehicles have run on our tracks, bringing here the technologies that would redefine the mobility of the future.
It is no coincidence that the Center has also been the setting for numerous international records and achievements, reinforcing its role as a benchmark for experimentation and high performance.
At the same time, NTC is a bridge between innovation and the local territory. A place that opens its doors to the development and training of young talents, where research and experimentation become opportunities for collaboration and shared growth.
A renewed drive towards the future
Since its acquisition in 2012 by Porsche, and thanks to the support and vision of Porsche Engineering, Nardò Technical Center has undertaken a major path of corporate development, transforming itself into a technological hub of innovation serving the international automotive industry, strengthening its competitiveness and investing in human capital and the technologies of tomorrow.
This 50th anniversary is not only a milestone but also a starting point: the beginning of the next fifty years of innovation, dedication and passion to continue shaping the future of mobility—right here, in the heart of Salento.
