Porsche Engineering celebrates 25 Years of Engineering Excellence and Innovation in the Czech Republic

Prague. Porsche Engineering Czech Republic, the Czech branch of the international technology service provider Porsche Engineering, celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026. Since its foundation in Prague in 2001, the company has developed from a small engineering office into one of Porsche Engineering’s largest development locations and an important part of its international development network.

At a glance:

  • Founded in 2001, Porsche Engineering Czech Republic has grown from a small engineering office in Prague into one of the largest development locations within Porsche Engineering's international network.

  • Teams in Prague and Ostrava contribute to a wide range of development activities, from mechanical engineering and simulation to software, electrification, connectivity, and cloud-based solutions.

  • Porsche Engineering Czech Republic combines engineering excellence with digital competencies to develop future-oriented technologies and deliver tailored solutions for the automotive industry and other industry segments.

Already in 1996, Porsche Engineering began cooperating with the Czech Technical University in Prague, recognizing the country's strong engineering tradition and technical expertise. The success of this partnership ultimately led to the establishment of Porsche Engineering Services, s.r.o., the Czech branch of Porsche Engineering, and laid the foundation for 25 years of engineering excellence.

“Establishing the subsidiary in Prague in 2001 was an important step in our high-competence strategy, strengthening our international development network and our access to highly talented engineers and developers,” says Dirk Lappe, Chief Technology Officer of Porsche Engineering and Chairman of the Shareholder's Committee of Porsche Engineering Czech Republic. “Today, with its combination of engineering expertise, software competence, and digital know-how, our Czech subsidiary is well positioned to create integrated technology solutions for various industries.”

Since its foundation, Porsche Engineering Czech Republic has continuously expanded its competencies in line with the transformation of the automotive and mobility industry. An important milestone was the establishment of the Mechatronics Division in 2012, which further strengthened the integration of software, electronics, and mechanical engineering. Today, Porsche Engineering Czech Republic contributes its expertise to projects for various industry segments across the entire product lifecycle. Its competencies include software, electrification, connectivity, advanced driver assistance systems, artificial intelligence, vehicle integration, testing, and validation.

With the opening of a second location in Ostrava in 2018, Porsche Engineering further strengthened its presence in the Czech Republic. The Ostrava site complements the established Prague location and has developed into an important hub for future-oriented E/E architectures, high-voltage systems, and connected mobility.

The continued development of both locations is also reflected in the company’s growth. In 2023, Porsche Engineering Czech Republic surpassed the milestone of 500 employees.

“For 25 years, Porsche Engineering Czech Republic has built on its engineering heritage while steadily transforming into a holistic technology partner,” says Miloš Polášek, CEO of Porsche Engineering Czech Republic. “Today, we are far more than an automotive engineering company, helping to drive innovation with a clear ambition to create value for our customers and contribute to technological advances beyond the automotive industry. Our greatest strength has always been our talented people, whose expertise, curiosity, and commitment continue to push the boundaries of engineering and technology.”

Looking ahead, Porsche Engineering Czech Republic will continue to build on its engineering heritage, highly skilled workforce, and drive for innovation. As Porsche Engineering and Porsche Digital are planned to combine their expertise under the shared brand Porsche Technologies in the second quarter of 2027, Porsche Engineering Czech Republic will further strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration within the expanded international network and contribute to end-to-end technology solutions for customers across industries.
