Testing Facilities

The Assisted Parking Test Area is equipped with a modular garage with automatic door, various sizes and types of parking spaces, sidewalks of different heights and kerbs with several profiles. On request, NTC provides the necessary equipment for testing activities.

The NTC workshop is equipped with a Beissbarth Easy 3D test bench combined with an OMCN 812/3 flat lift; the facility allows wheel alignment measurements for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles up to 5.0 tons and 430 cm wheelbase. The 3D technology with triangulation for each wheel (i.e. two cameras pointing on the measuring panel for on each wheel) is the key element for great accuracy and reproducibility of measurements.

The Battery Testing Site offers the possibility to perform misuse tests on Li-Ion batteries as well as homologation tests on plastic fuel tanks, in full compliance with Italian environmental requirements.

The facility provides multi-sensor continuous acquisition and external control, allowing the interruption of the test at any time.

Fire-proof thermal camera systems and an effective fiber-optic connection for data enable real-time remote monitoring of test execution, in a dedicated control room. Full streaming and images of the test cycles in digital format are available on client’s request.

A laboratory for noise measurements on vehicles is located close to the Noise Track. Customers can either connect their own instruments or use NTC equipments with the support of our specialized technicians. The laboratory position allows the direct tests control and the related results.

As part of road durability tests and water infiltrations analysis, on the Pergola Water Spray area it is possible to spray fresh or salted water (with different salt concentrations) on vehicles; this facility is equipped with a water recirculation and purification system; tests can be carried out up to twenty minutes per cycle.

Two different type of vapour locks are available in the Proving Ground: fixed vapour locks located on strategic positions, close to the test tracks, as well as movable vapour locks of different sizes.

A vehicle scale for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles is avaiable in the Proving Ground. This facility is provided with four scales, each with a maximum capacity of two tonnes.

A truck scale for lorries and heavy vehicles with a maximum capacity of forthy tons is also available in the Proving Ground.
